Christmas #1, 2010

Will built a great fire in our new dining room for dinner on Christmas Eve.... what a FUN evening.

For dinner, I made Chicken and Biscuits that is one of our new favorites!

Christmas Eve dessert: mint buttercream whoopie pies with chocolate ganache. Yum...

I will spare you (and me) from all of the present opening Christmas morning... but here are some highlights:

Diego loves our new house because we let him sleep indoors now. He just has to stay on his blanket by the door. He is such a great pup... and isn't he adorable?! (Stay tuned to see pictures of our new dog...)

We are pretty sure that Santa lives in Portland, with all the boxes that came in the mail! Yes, Mr. and Mrs. Clause (um, Schuman) sent us lots of goodies. Here are the kids and Will with theirs, and I don't know why no one took MY picture, but I got 3 fabulous scarves from Nordstrom. Thank you, Bruce and Cody!!!

No child has EVER been this excited about a microscope! Titus loves to collect specimens down at the creek and study them, and he's convinced he's going to be a scientist, quite possibly the bug kind. EEEEWWWW.

Is this what I think it is?!? (That's the problem with watching "A Christmas Story" too many times.)

Yes! Your very own Red Ryder... to kill all those unwelcome rattlesnakes we'll see each summer in the country!

How funny that Titus' new skateboard matches his shirt!

Finally... a BIG BOY BIKE!!!

G.G. loved the robe we got her!

Oh dear... let me explain. Sullivan was wearing footy jammies, so she HAD TO remove them completely to try on her high heels!!

Sulli got so many kitchen accessories this year, and she looked so glamorous cooking in her Christmas dress... like June Cleaver.

We finished our first family Christmas in our new home with Beef Tenderloin with Gorgonzola sauce.... and all the fixins. For dessert: more whoopie pies! This was our first Christmas ever without any extended family, but it is one we will never forget!

I think I'm most impressed with the fact that your house looks all put together in time for Christmas having just moved!

Hannah, you're so sweet. I think you're right, Carri... we both LOVE shoes (especially the high-heeled variety.) Thanks,Derek; I would get up around 4 am just to unpack and get things looking nice and cozy in time for Christmas. I'm funny that way.
