Happy Birthday, Levi!!!

The birthday boy wanted a "family weekend" to celebrate. He wanted to go bowling, out to a movie, and to spend time in our new home! So we did just that. Movie day, though, ended up at home with Toy Story 3, which we hadn't seen yet. There was nothing good at the theatre. Bowling was a blast... we all loved it.

Our hungry bowling champion (he won the first game!) wanted In 'N Out afterwards. We were happy to oblige. We frequent this joint so much, I'm pretty sure they know us.

Waiting for cake... (Sweet Grandma spends most of her time in bed these days, so getting a picture of her with her hair lying down is challenging.)

So, it was finally cake time. I made chocolate layer cake with Nutella buttercream. YUM! I'm a Nutella fanatic, so I thought it would make a pretty fantastic frosting, and I was right. Everybody loved it! Here's to the sweetest little 6-year-old I know.

That special day....

I went back to dig up the picture of Levi, the day he asked Jesus to save him. Oh, happy day!!!

Levi's 6th birthday!!!

On Monday, February 28th, we celebrated his real day! A weekend of partying couldn't keep us from skipping school and continuing the celebration... down in San Diego at none other than The Cheesecake Factory!!! It's always our favorite family dining spot for special stuff. We had a great dinner, as always.

So, after dinner we brought our Adam's Peanut Butter Cheesecakes home and had presents (most of which I'll spare you) and dessert. Yes, the birthday cake was gone in 2 days. Here's our b-day boy, dying to open the present from Non and Pops.

Wow... a new cowboy hat and shirts! Thanks, Nonnie and Popsie! Look at our strapping young cowboy!

And here's his favorite present (because he told us so!): his own engraved Bible. His brothers got one when they received Jesus as Savior, and Levi never did when he was saved. I know, HORRIBLE! He's been asking for one, and we've sorta been putting it off until he could read a little. But we did inscribe it with the date Levi was born again (Jan. 1, 2009). He carries his new Bible everywhere now.

She's got style!

She dresses herself! (Not usually, but I was busy teaching Levi by the fire on a cold morning and didn't want to get up and get her dressed. Pretty chic, don't you think? I like the mixture of casual New York tee with frilly Hello Kitty skirt... very fashion-forward.)

She poses. (Notice Titus working studiously in the background! Yes, this is a school day.)

She dances... as always.

At Home in the Country

Our friends, Carri and Eddie Roman, own Roman Studio and are both amazing photographers. Carri came out to the new digs to photograph our family, and we had such a blast. She's very laid back and fun, so everybody was pretty relaxed. I absolutely love her creativity... not your normal and boring old family pictures. Thank you so much, Carri, for your beautiful work. We love the pictures!
