Toffee Fudge Cake

As you can see, Cousin Devaney is turning 9 in a few days!! How fun that we get to celebrate her birthday with her! I was thrilled that she requested "angel cake or something chocolate." We don't do "angel cake" in this house... isn't that diet cake? So, I opted for one of my favorite to make and to eat. OK, making it usually makes me scream since I ALWAYS get the toffee wrong at least once. It took 2 tries this time. But it's so worth the time and effort, especially for someone as sweet as my niece. She actually told me this was the best cake she's EVER had!! Is that sweet, or what??
