Farewell, Summer... Day 2

Day 2 of our camping trip was action-packed and awesome! We had so much fun!! We started our day with bacon and eggs and bagels and then took a stroll along Mission Bay. It was really fun for me because my family used to come here when I was growing up. We came to this same RV park and took this same walk. The homes around the bay are a little run down now, not beautiful like I remember them. But it was a fun walk down memory lane.

I love this picture of Titus and Diego on the bay.

We rented pedal boats on the bay for an hour, just enough time to enjoy the water before heading back to camp to meet our friends. I couldn't stop taking pictures of Diego in that boat! He was so happy; can't you tell how proud he is? I think he's actually smiling. And he loved dragging his tail in the water to cool off. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

Zane, Sulli and I had so much fun in our little pedal boat too! We didn't have a big furry dog to weigh us down, so we zoomed around the bay with great ease. Ok, you can't really zoom in a pedal boat, but we went much faster than they did!

Our dear friends, Sean and Mary Kay and their sweet kids, drove down to spend some time with us at the beach. We finally decided on Dog Beach in Del Mar so we wouldn't have to leave Diego behind. He loved the water and watching the other pooches, and all of our kids had a great time together, as always! Thanks for being the wonderful friends you are, Alixs, and for taking time for us out of your family day. We love you all!

This has been a long day, and I think Titus is ready to go back to camp. Levi, on the other hand, looks like he's just getting started!

Mary Kay and I got to visit a little at the beach, but I wish we'd had more time!

Zane loved boogie boarding and swimming with Sydney and Bailey.

Sulli and Lukie loved each other's company while playing in the sand.

Playing on the beach left us all super sandy. The guys braved the public showers (not my pick), and us girls took baths in our own tiny tub. Here' my little doll, ready for hers.

After cleaning up a little, we drove back over to P.B. to eat at The Fishery, one of Will's and my favorite restaurants when we lived there. At lunch, their fish burritos are to die for, and their dinner menu is amazing. We ate outside so Diego could watch us (lucky pup!), tied right down on the sidewalk near our tables (Zane and Titus had their own). I'm still shocked at how much attention we get when we have him with us. Everyone wants to pet him, love on him and know all about him. I guess he is pretty cute.

After dinner we stopped by Cold Stone for ice cream to take back to our trailer. Poor Diego couldn't eat any, but we sure couldn't let a birthday celebration pass us by without a treat! What a great finale to our action-packed, perfect day of fun in the sun!

I have to admit, Diego is one special pup. My guess is, he will have his own boogie board and be out in the water with the kids if you teach him. He is smart and loves his family!!!

The Fishery!! What a great place! We ate there the morning after the earthquake and that's where I first met Sean and Mary Kay. Good times... I've got to get out to see you guys again! :-)
