4 months old today!!!

I got Sullivan this cool little chair today (Sept. 24), which she seems to really enjoy. She likes the fact that she can turn her head and neck all around and see what's going on. Just so you know, I would never walk away from her, not even for a second, when she's up off the ground like this. I know that, before long, she'll be able to work her way out of the "Bumbo."

A bad hair day...

.... pretty much every day.

Oprah, you're funny!

While I was ironing (for the first time since Sullivan was born - or since I became pregnant with Sullivan - I'm not sure) I needed something to watch! Sulli really seemed to get a kick out of Oprah.

A lovely centerpiece

Sometimes we love to plop our sweetie right in the middle of the table when we eat - you know, so she can really feel like she's part of the family (even though Will's afraid this means we approve of "child-centered parenting." Whatever.) He doesn't look too unhappy in this picture, does he? :-)

Tummy time

I try to put Sulli on her tummy every day for a little while, although she usually rolls right over. She likes being on her tummy more than she used to, which is good, I guess. I just think she looks cute in a different position.

Baby, it's cold outside!

Sullivan has been wearing lots of cozy things, including hats, because we have been VERY COLD, here in Southern California... It has been down to the high 60's at the warmest point of the day! We've even had clouds and a mild drizzle to culminate in what I heard was one of the biggest storms in history for the month of September (the local news loves to follow this with a "storm watch")! Anyways, I'll use any excuse to try out some of her warmer outfits; it sure is fun.

Sweet companion

I know half of the pictures I put on this blog are of Sullivan in her bouncy seat on the kitchen counter. But I love to have her with me, and I'm ALWAYS in the kitchen!!! She doesn't seem to mind and actually acts like she's still entertained by the birdie and butterflies dangling from the toy bar. And if she gets a little bored, she perks right up as soon as she hears my voice. Ask anybody who's been around her... she loves to talk!

Once my little baby....

.... now my big boy. I can't believe how quickly Levi is growing up. Not only is he HUGE, but he is 2 1/2 going on 10. He plays with all the big kids now and has gotten very independent. Why is this so hard for a Mommy?

In love

I think these two are in love. I love to see Daddy with his girl.

One happy baby

Will and I are so thankful for a baby (especially a fourth baby) who is so content and seems genuinely happy almost all of the time! God is so good and never gives us more than we can handle. So, even though life at the Powell's is CRAZY and CHAOTIC much of the time, we wouldn't have it any other way. Children are such an amazing blessing.

Parade of SMILES

These aren't too hard to capture on camera anymore... and they're so much fun!

More of our happy girl...

Aunt Cindy

Will's sister, Cindy, was here (from Colorado) visiting a friend in Irvine. We got to go to breakfast with her and catch up a little, which was nice. Sullivan was very pleased to meet her. Great to see you, Cindy!

Thank you, Kelly

This little tutu is one of many adorable outfits Kelly McClintock blessed us with before Sullivan was even born. I love it because it's a comfortable onesie with frill and femininity. :)

Fun with friends

Hanna and Asher Farley posed for a few pictures with Sullivan. They are such wonderful kids, and we love to have them over! I pray Sulli grows up to be as sweet as Hanna.

Two fingers

Sullivan has found her favorite two fingers to comfort herself with. They are the same two her Daddy loved when he was a baby (big surprise!). This is so nice because she doesn't want her pacifier anymore. And the timing couldn't have been more perfect: right when school started!! Thank you, Lord.

Serious but cute

Sulli just happens to be wearing some outfits of mine when I was a baby in these very serious pictures!

One hundred and WHAT???

We've been trying to beat the heat around here (105 - 110 degrees). Usually we stay in, but when the boys venture out, water or watermelon help a lot!

First day of school!

We can hardly believe the summer is gone and 2nd grade has begun!

Here we go again...

.... little Mr. Potato Head!
