Early Birthday Celebration

We got to celebrate three birthdays early last weekend: Will's Dad's and Levi's (both Feb. 28) and Zane's (March 8). The Powells stayed with us for a week, so we had the perfect opportunity to celebrate these three special people.

Gifts from Grandparents!

Levi opened up the dump truck he's been wanting. Zane is finally at the age where he actually appreciates birthday cards and what is written inside of them. He read his so beautifully. He loved his golf game too!

Fabulous New Cake!

I wonder how many pictures there are on this blog of me standing next to a cake!?!?

Grandpa and Levi (and Titus?) blew out the candles.

I have my friend Denise to thank for this recipe! She emailed it to me a while back, thinking it might just be one I would enjoy making. Boy, was she right! It was fun to make and even more fun to eat. It's a sweet and salty chocolate cake, with layers of salted caramel, fleur de sel, and whipped caramel ganache between the cake layers. We all agreed it's one of our all-time favorites - and perfect for Grandpa, who is a chocoholic! Just look at the caramel, oozing out through the frosting.... MMMMM.

Early Morning Goodbye

Sulli was the only one of the kids up early enough to tell Grandma and Grandpa goodbye before they headed back to Sonora. We will see you again next month!

Git Along, Little Dogie

Last night Sullivan was cracking me up, taking her "Lam-Lam" for a stroll with her cowgirl hat on. She would stop from time to time to plant a big smooch on his nose, and then off she would go again.

Valentine's Day 2009

Valentine's Day was the calm before CA's huge rainstorm of the year! Look how beautiful it is... and at all of the balloonists that are out!

It's early in the morning, and our littlest Valentine is already on the move!

Valentines gifts.... you can feel the excitement! Will spoiled me with clothes, candy, flowers and CDs.

Nonnie and Popsie sent all of us "I Love Lucy," Seasons 1 and 2!!! Yay!!!

Nonnie and Popsie sent Sulli "Cinderella!"

Funny Valentines!

Sulli loves her butterfly wiggle holders!

The kids and I had decorated the whole house with valentines for Daddy... just telling him how special he is. They were everywhere!!!

After gifts and some Lucy, we headed to Pauba Park for some fun.

Dinner with my Loves! We had Chicken a la Vallee D'Auge, Camembert Rice and Warm Endive and Apples. (Thanks, Rachel Ray!)

My dessert creation: individual baked chocolate puddings with ice cream, homemade chocolate sauce and peanut butter cookies. The perfect ending to a perfect day!

The Hat Lady

My Sulli is already a girlie girl. As I was getting her dressed this morning, she was pointing to her hats, saying, "Hat, pleeease?"When I put it on her, she just gazed in the mirror, smiling.

Isn't He CUTE???

I took this picture of Zane right after his Daddy took him shopping for Little League stuff. Here he is, ready to practice! He is so excited about baseball, he can hardly stand it. He's already making new friends and loving his new team sport!

Walking in Her "Wiggles"

Sullivan is getting much more brave, walking all over the house now! Yes, even downstairs on the hard wood floors! She hasn't taken any terrible spills yet, probably because of the incredible balancing act she does with her arms. :)
