Take me out to the ball game!

So far, the Iron Pigs have only lost one game this whole season! I see championships in our future (and an extended spring season.... ugh.:)) Here's our star player: #2! As Sullivan cheers constantly, "YAY, Zane!!!"

Zane's biggest fan and best little cheerleader LOVES the games!!!

Trail mix keeps Sulli happy for hours. ;)

I can't remember if it was a bird or a plane, but she was excited about something up there.

Levi loves being outside, so ball games are right up his alley!

Diego is quite a hit at the games; people can't keep their hands off of him. Titus babysits him most of the time. He just loves that dog!

Game Ball!

Zane was awarded the game ball for this game (March 20th)! He doesn't get to hit the ball much since he's a lefty and the pitchers almost always walk him! But he really hustles, catches balls and steals bases. He scored quite a few points for his team tonight! We so admire his heart for the game.

Board Breaking!

March 20th was board breaking day at Anointed Martial Arts (previously Sunridge Karate). Each child got pledges from donors to fund the next mission trip to Ecuador. So, thank you to grandparents, aunts and uncles (Cody and Bruce :))!

Each boy with his stack...

Titus did great breaking his first boards!

Zane has done this before, so it was a breeze. ;)

Great evening with greater friends

We spent last Friday night with the Alixs. They are such special people and have been dear friends since we were first married and lived in San Diego. We had a casual evening of food and fellowship. We brought salmon for the grill, hot dogs for the kids and dessert, and Mary Kay made a great salad and delicious soup! Along with enjoying each other's company, we loved watching Bailey and Sullivan hang out. Bailey is Sulli's very first friend, and they are absolutely darling together.

Sean and Will

I just love Mary Kay.

Mary Kay's mom, Marilyn, was visiting from WA, and it's always so nice to see her! Grandma was disappointed that she was sick and couldn't join us; she loves chatting with Marilyn.

The bigger kids sat at their own outdoor table, but we enjoyed having the little ones with us: Luke and Sulli.

The kids loved playing in the back yard and admiring the cuddly chickens!

Once again, the inseparable girls... they were so fun to watch all evening. If they weren't hiding behind a bed somewhere with dollies, they were rocking in their little chairs, giggling. We ALL had a wonderful time!!!

Young Author's Tea

Zane did such a great job writing his very first book!!! He received a "participation" certificate, not an actual award this year. The protective "mom" part of me got a little irked, considering he wrote HIS book all by HIMSELF, and all I did was edit spelling errors. This was our first time, and we had no idea what to expect. But do you think my son felt slighted in the least? NO! He grinned from ear to ear, practically running up to the stage to get his certificate. People kept telling me they could not believe how happy he was! And do you know what he said after it was all over and we got in the car? "Mom, do you know who supplied the awards?" I replied, "You mean those paper certificates? I'm not sure, but Mrs. West put the Tea together." He said, "I can't believe I did not tell her 'thank you!' I didn't have a chance on stage, and I wish I would have." OK... so my 10-year-old showed me the heart of Jesus and put me to shame. Needless to say, I sent Mrs. West a thank you email from me and Zane... for his certificate and a truly delightful Tea.

Here are all of the kids who wrote books this year!

After the awards ceremony, we all got to enjoy visiting, eating cake and looking at all of the books! Zane told me that he loved our date together. How I love this boy!

So totally annoyed!!!

Evidently, the amount of content on our main page has been limited by blogger. Thus, I've worked hard for two days to update this blog, and you can't even see it all! Frustrating!!! If you're interested, click on "Subscribe to Posts (Atom)" under the Archives, and that works for some reason. Thank you for letting me vent! ;)

Thanks for visiting, Mom!

Here we are with Mom, the night before she went home. She got so sick while she was here (probably from the darn airplane), and she just felt crummy! But we loved having her here! Just look at these pictures, Mom, and know how much we miss you!!! Thank you for everything!

Zane should have gotten this haircut before his birthday... oh well.

Can't believe he's TEN!!!

Zane requested a family pizza party for his birthday. As an added bonus, I didn't even make veggies or a salad to go with it - just as a gift to Zane. ;) We planned Legoland for the weekend but got rained out. So, if all goes well, we'll have a belated celebration there next weekend!

We're so blessed to have each other, and we were blessed to have Mom here to celebrate with us, even though she was so sick. :( We wish Dad could have stayed longer, but he had to get back to NM.

Sulli was absolutely giddy about the party!

One of the MANY things I love about this boy is his grateful heart. You'd think each and every gift was his absolute favorite. He's just such a sweetheart. But mostly I love his heart for the Lord - he's totally sold out for Jesus.

No, Zane is not 163, but I didn't have the box of candles I thought I did. So, I improvised and we did math.

The only problem with this ice cream pie is that it was HARD to cut. Will was sure I would stab myself. That thick peanut buttery layer was a challenge indeed... but worth the workout.

I'm definitely making this again!
