A Thankful - but quiet - Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was different for our family, in that it was just us! We usually go somewhere or have someone here, but with us on pins and needles, waiting to find out if we were actually moving.... and with us partially packed and ready to move at a moment's notice, we decided not to make any plans. We've been believing for 3 months now, that God hand-picked the property in De Luz for our family, and yet it was not an easy process! Our escrow went on and on, and we wondered if it would all fall apart. On Thanksgiving we had an underlying peace that all would work out, and we concentrated on how far the Lord had brought us in the process and what He was teaching us in waiting on His timing and trusting in Him. I also had surgery on my leg 2 days before Thanksgiving, and I probably should not have been standing all day, making dinner, but I couldn't resist. My family LOVES traditional Thanksgiving food. I know lots of people aren't big on turkey, but I think it's because they haven't had good turkey. Or good gravy! Thank You, Lord, for our many, many blessings!

And here's Will with some crazy eyes, holding our bird. This is the smallest turkey I've ever roasted... only 16 pounds! We only had leftovers for one meal!

Here are the kids with their "thankful turkeys." I had them write something they are thankful for in each feather. They had no trouble filling them up! (Obviously, Sulli is thankful for her huge smile!)
